We’re a small business – not a big corporation with a big L&D budget. How will these workshops help our bottom line?

Research has shown that, on average, the expected ROI of mental health initiatives in the workplace is $2.10 for every dollar invested. (You can read the research here.)

You can also get an estimate of the likely returns for your industry and the size of your business here.

Please -don’t let money get in the way of looking after yourself and your employees. Let’s talk about how we can make this workable for you and your business.

We don’t have any employees with a mental health condition. Do we still need these workshops?

Yes.

The learning outcomes of these workshops are to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions. We focus on strategies for individuals to look after their own mental health and well-being as well as having the skills and the confidence to have conversations with others they are concerned about.

Many of my clients see these as proactive and preventive steps in managing the issues related to mental health in the workplace. In Australia, ensuring the mental (or psychological) safety of employees is a legal obligation, just as looking after employees’ physical safety. I believe it is also the moral and ethical thing to do.

Side note: I feel inclined to point out that you may have employees with a diagnosed mental health condition. They are not required to disclose their condition and it is common for people with mental health challenges to become very skilled in masking them. Why? Because of their fear of judgement and discrimination. Also, many people receiving effective treatment for a mental health condition are totally capable of carrying out their required work duties.

And, the statistics tell us that one in five people in Australia are dealing with a mental health condition at any point in time. Consider this in respect to your number of employees.

Do we have to have the maximum number of attendees you mention in order to book the workshops for our organisation?

    Absolutely not!

I stipulate a maximum number purely to ensure the learning environment is optimal and that every individual receives the attention they need or desire.

We want something designed for our specific needs – can you help with that?

I relish the opportunity to work in partnership with clients and learn more about why they have decided to provide their employees with this information and support. Designing learning events that achieve specific business outcomes is one of the reasons many clients choose to work with me.

Let’s get started – I can’t wait to chat with you. Click here to send me an email with your preferred days and times for me to call you!

What are your qualifications as a workshop host?

From a Learning and Development perspective, I have facilitated 1,000s of sessions for 100s of organisations and dozens of industries and professions during the past 34-plus years of working in my own business.

I have a degree in Psychology and Sociology, am a Practitioner of NLP and Generative Learning and am qualified in several personality profiling systems, including the MBTI and Majors PT-Elements.

From a Mental Health perspective, I have a certificate in Mental Health First Aid and have been trained by Beyond Blue.

More importantly, I speak from the perspective of someone with lived experience of anxiety and depression and bereavement as a result of suicide. It is my personal experiences that have led me to my passion for and commitment to creating safe and inclusive spaces for people to speak honestly about their mental health.

What does your 110% guarantee mean?

    I’m glad you asked.

Aside from your financial investment with me, I thoroughly understand and respect you are also making a ‘payment’ of your time and energy.

If you believe I haven’t delivered what I promised, not only will you pay nothing … but I will pay you 10% of your financial investment with me by way of apology.

(In more than 34 years in business, I am proud to say I have never once been asked to honour that guarantee!)

What if I have further questions?

I’d love to help and have a chat with you! Either call me on +61 417 575 493 or send an email to sandi@psychologicalsafetyworks.com.au – whichever is more convenient for you.
